Sustainability & Environmental Policies

SUSTAINABILITY MISSION:

Cache Valley Electric/CVE Technologies Group Inc. is committed to a sustainable future and to improving the social and economic well-being of the communities we work in as well as the world in which we live. We are dedicated to environmental improvements that foster awareness and change in business and individual practices which lead to measurable improvements in our community.

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY POLICY:

At its core, CVE Technologies Group believes in a sustainable future for both the planet and its inhabitants. We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact and promoting a culture of sustainability in all aspects of our operations.

We recognize that the health of our planet is intrinsically linked to the health and well-being of its people. We strive to minimize our carbon footprint, conserve resources, and reduce waste wherever possible. This includes adopting sustainable practices in our manufacturing processes, transportation, and supply chain management.

We are committed to responsible sourcing of materials and promoting eco-friendly alternatives. We also prioritize energy efficiency in our facilities and work to reduce water usage.

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our operations to the communities we serve. We seek to educate and empower our stakeholders to make sustainable choices, and to support environmental initiatives that align with our values.

We believe that a sustainable future is not only possible, but essential. Through our actions and advocacy, we aim to be a catalyst for positive change and a leader in promoting environmental sustainability.

CVE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY COMPANY GOALS:

  1. Managing waste: CVE Tech has global shipping requirements and our warehouses package and deliver products to customer locations around the world. We also send tons of packing material we receive into our warehouses every day to waste management locations. In order to accomplish our goal, CVE will include the purchase and utilization of green packing materials, promote recycling, and ensuring safe and responsible disposal of hazardous materials.

Our goal is to reach 100% recyclable packing materials leaving our warehouse, and that all scraps and unusable materials that are disposed of from our warehouse services, will be recycled (instead of trashed) by December 31, 2024.

  2. Sustainable transportation: The surrounding mountain ranges in the Salt Lake City metro area create serious air quality and road safety problems throughout the year, and especially in the winter months when strong inversions and storms settle in. The Governor of the State of Utah has an entire hybrid work force initiative to try and combat the smog build up, and traffic problems that occur during heavy snowstorms. The use of large plows and salt also impacts the environment during these events. We support the Governor’s hybrid work force initiative.

Using hybrid-work technologies, CVE Tech provides the tools and resources for employees to work from home which lowers vehicle emissions and keeps employees off the highways during hazardous snow conditions. We also promote the use of public transit, when possible, encourage the use of bicycles and walking, and promote personal electric vehicles use by providing charging stations at all CVE facilities.

CVE Tech’s goal is to maintain our 2023 over-achievement of allowing employees to work from home a minimum of 60% of the work week through 2024. This lowers vehicle CO2 emissions by 60%, reduces dependence on limited natural resources (gas and oil), and keeps employees off the highways during hazardous snow conditions.
